We need your help to make sure Evanston’s updated Bike Plan is a comprehensive and actionable vision for the future of micromobility in our community, with specific recommendations and a plan of action for building new cycling infrastructure for all ages and abilities (AAA).
What: Public Feedback Meetings on the Bike Plan Update
When/Where: Tuesday, January 27th from 5 – 8 PM at Prieto Community Center, 430 Asbury Ave

Why: This is a generational opportunity to shape the future of Evanston’s streets. City staff and Council Members will be there to take your suggestions.
What to advocate for:
#1 Protected Bike Lanes and Paths
Corridors to suggest:
Main Street, Sheridan Road, Asbury Ave, Oakton/South Blvd, Emerson Ave, Sherman Ave, etc.
#2 High-Quality Neighborhood Greenways
Corridors to suggest:
Lincoln/Harrison Streets, Lake Street, Greenleaf Street, Maple Ave, Poplar Ave, etc.
#3 Protected Intersections
Intersections to suggest:
Church & Dodge, Main & Dodge, Asbury & Davis, etc.
#4 Bus Boarding Islands
Corridors to suggest:
Davis and Church Streets through Downtown Evanston or along Dodge Ave
#5 Implementation/Policy
Formally adopt the ‘All Ages and Abilities’ (AAA) standard for all new bike facilities to be constructed in Evanston, a best practice per the National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) Urban Bikeway Design Guide.
